Spring Hunter Education

It may not feel like it, (ok, maybe this weekend it does) but Spring is coming.  That means that the Club will again be hosting another group of potential new hunters taking their Hunter Education class.

The group of volunteer instructors will again be instructing a group of students and preparing them for their first hunting experience, some getting ready for the spring turkey season. The Club will be hosting the Hunter Education group this March 17th through the 19th, and 24th and 25th. Times would be 6:30pm to 9:00pm. All nights must be attended in order to satisfy the number of hours required for the class.

The cost for the class is $10.  Part of this money goes back to the state to help offset the cost of printing the materials and the other part stays with the lead instructor to cover the costs of printing, mailing and other class costs.

If you, or someone you know, needs to get registered for the Hunter Education class, you can register online with the Go Wild website. Choose “HUNTER” for Course Type and “EAU CLAIRE” for County then hit search.  You will be able to enroll online.  You will be asked for some information in order to get your DNR Customer number.

Who needs Hunter Education in Wisconsin?

If you were born after January 1st, 1973, then you need to take the Hunter Education course before you can purchase a hunting licence in Wisconsin.  There are other activities that require DNR Education as well.  You can see all the available courses on the Wisconsin Go Wild website.
