A blast from the past.
With most things shut down during the COVID-19 issue, there is not much news coming from the Club. No shooting or no Hunter Ed. No rentals or impromptu team get togethers.
I thought that with nothing new to report, how about something old to report.
While doing a little spring quarantine (I’m not actually quarantined, but I couldn’t think of a better way to describe it) cleaning, I have come across a few old Club Newsletters.
How about some news from March of 2007.
Congratulations are in order.
We have an ATA trapshooting husband and wife team from the Club who have just received one of the highest honors given by the Wisconsin Trapshooters Association. Gerald and Cheryl Demulling of New Richmond, have been elected into the Wisconsin Trapshooting Hall of Fame. They will be inducted at the Annual Awards Banquet on July 21, 2007, along with the 2006 All-State Team members. Jerry is this year’s Men’s All-State Team Captain.
Club youth shooter makes All-State Team.
With a 94.72 average in 16 yard, an 89.56 average in handicap, and an 88.57 average in doubles shooting, Zach Snobl will become a member of the Wisconsin Junior All-State team. While competing for a spot on the All-State Junior team, Zach finished third in the State in Junior 16 yard competitions; finished first in the State among juniors in Handicap competition; and ended up 5th in the State in Junior Doubles competition. All members wish to congratulate Jerry, Cheryl and Zach for these high honors.
Special dates for this Summer
Mark your calendar now for July 29th and the Club’s Corn Day Celebration. This is always a special day for members and community to get together and have fun with Turkey Shoots, Five Man Teams, Annie Oakley’s, and plenty of sweet corn.
In August the Club is hosting the Chippewa Valley Outdoor Games. We have teamed up with the Sports Commission and the Visitor and Convention Bureau to bring three great days of activities to the Club. Gander Mountain and Charter Communications are major sponsors of the weekend. Activities will include a Trapshoot, Archery tournament, retriever competiton, dock dogs, Stihl lumberjacks, Tom Knapp, conservation village, vendor exhibits and much more. August 10th through the 12th will be three great days at the Club. Mark the dates now and watch for more information in the coming weeks.
If you have any old Newsletters laying around and would like to contribute to this blast from the past project, please type them up or scan them and send them to Jason at email@example.com for inclusion on the website. Also, if you have any pictures of events at the Club and would like to scan those for inclusion, send them too.
Here, I’ll get it started.
Who thinks they can name the year, team name and all those pictured? Send your best guess to Jason (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we’ll see who gets the closest.
