Last night the Board of Directors got together for the regularly scheduled monthly Board Meeting. Do not worry, we were careful to practice our social distancing.
Of primary concern, and was discussed for some time, was what to do with the upcoming Handicap League season. As of now, there is no word on if the limitations on gatherings will be lifted in time for the season to start on time. Definitely not in time for any amount of bank scores or shoot aheads to be recorded.
At this time, the Board has decided that we will keep the the 16 week shooting schedule as it is, but push the start date back two weeks. The season was scheduled to start on the April 28th and 29th. As of now, the league season will start on May 12th and 13th.
The online schedule will be updated when more concrete dates are available. Because this whole issue is changing daily, this plan may change again soon.
At this time, the 16 Yard league is still set to start as originally scheduled as is the Thursday night youth program.
The Board of Directors is planning on meeting again in two weeks, just after the original stay at home order is set to expire, to evaluate the situation at that time. We are hopeful that there will be a more clear timeline for when things will be allowed to open up again.
We are also planning for continued restrictions even after we have the green light to open up for shooting. We may have limited access to the club house in order to limit the number of people that are allowed to congregate. Also, we are planning on allowing entry to the club house through the main doors in the bar, and moving through the trap room and exiting only from the west door. There is also a possibility that while we will be permitted to open the trap range for shooting, we may not be allowed to open the bar.
All of this is dependent on when and in what manner the stay at home order is lifted. So far to date, we do not know of a state that has lifted an order like this, so we cannot speculate on how Wisconsin will work this out.
All we can do right now is hope for the best.
We would like to thank all our members for their patience with this. The Board would like to be open and have everyone out there shooting as much as the rest of the membership, but there is little that can be done about it. All we can do is ask that all the members stay safe and stay healthy. We want to see everyone out there enjoying the nice weather that should eventually be here.
If any members need anything, please reach out to the Club and we can see what can be done.
